As mentioned above, container shipping is divided into two types: FCL and LCL. Therefore, there are also differences in the way of handover. Throughout the current international practice, there are roughly the following four categories:

(1) FCL, FCL (FCL/FCL)
International container cargo packing and handover method
The shipper delivers the full container after the full load to the carrier at the factory or warehouse, and the consignee picks up the goods at the destination in the same case. In other words, the carrier is responsible for the handover in the whole case. The packing and unpacking of the goods are the responsibility of the cargo side.
(2) LCL/LCL (LCL/LCL)
The cargo owner delivers the consignment less than the full container to the carrier at the container freight station or inland transfer station, and the carrier is responsible for the consolidation and packing (Stuffing, Vanning) to the destination cargo station or inland transfer station. The carrier is responsible for unpacking (Unstuffing, Devantting). After unpacking, the consignee receives the voucher. The carrier is responsible for the packing and unpacking of the goods.

(3) FCL, unboxing (FCL/LCL)
The shipper delivers the full container after the full load to the carrier at the factory or warehouse. After the carrier is responsible for unpacking at the destination container freight station or inland transfer station, each consignee receives the goods with the voucher.
(4) LCL, FCL (LCL/FCL)
The consignor will deliver the consignment of less than the full container to the carrier at the container freight station or inland transfer station. It is sorted and adjusted by the carrier, and the same consignee’s goods are assembled into a full container. After being transported to the destination, the carrier delivers the whole box and the consignee picks up the whole box.
Among the above various handover methods, the best effect is achieved by the whole box and the whole box, and the container is superior.
